About VTO

VTO Labs has built a unique team of experts from a variety of disciplines - law enforcement, military, technology, education and government contracting. Our team offers advanced technology solutions, including cyber security, digital forensics, data recovery and hardware exploitation to clients around the world.

In 2017, VTO was awarded two research and development contracts from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate. The research programs were focused on drone forensics and damaged device forensics. The programs continued from 2017 to 2018 with world-leading advancements in these topic areas that are still sought out today.

Since then, VTO has continued to set industry standards for data recovery methods from damaged devices and drones, â€‹serving on prime and sub-prime contracts with government and education agencies worldwide. We also work with law enforcement and commercial security to interrogate electronic devices pertinent to legal matters.

VTO founder Steve Watson comes from the electronics and semiconductor industry and spent most of his career in cyber security, incident response, investigations and large legal matter support. He established VTO, Inc., in 2016, developing a body of research related to data recovery from new technology as well as damaged devices. This created opportunities to serve on U.S. Federal government committees for digital forensics and electronic evidence. He still serves in this capacity to this day.
